Guestbook 2007
Happy Holidays, Barry. I have really appreciated you supporting my first year of myspace, your comments have really boosted and inspired me, coming from someone I respect so much. I'm telling you, since coming to myspace and listening to countless players...you are pretty much it for me as far as someone whose playing I could just fall off in. ....there are of course many great guitar players that I've heard and liked...but there are milestone guitar players for me that I've listened to throughout the years, really just a few that have really moved me..and I can list them easily; Terry Kath, Mel Galley, Robin Trower, B B King, Santana, Eric Johnson, Larry Carlton. Lots of others I really liked - but could rarely sit through a whole show to watch. I'm not kidding, I liked Gatton, Allan Holdsworth and others, but left before the show was done..... but anyway, that list of guys are the main ones I think that really just moved me inside. In the last year I've been on countless sites, and you are really the only one that I just connect with as far as what you are saying on the guitar...know what I mean? You are on the list now. You have the chops that are unreal - so interesting and that make me want to practice, but you have so much soul in your playing that make you someone that I can just shut up and listen to, and let you do your job....lol....I have just this month gotten some medical financial stuff finally out of the way and I will start getting your work after the Christmas crunch...then, get ready to hear your influence in my playing!! LOL Even at 48, and after 42 years of playing, I want to play like you when I grow up. LOL Happy Holidays

I was introduced to you about 3 years ago ... Jim and Danny. Well, as you know, I've been hooked ever since. You are a true musician that I feel is the best I've ever heard (Just as I was told 3+ years ago). Feel very fortunate to be able to see you most every weekend. Your band is tight and I hope many others will come to know you just as I have. Thank You.

I just wanted to say how much I love watching you play. I've only seen a video of you on veoh.com but it was awesome. I haven't seen anyone but the legends get into their music like you do. If you ever decided to make a trip to Charlotte please advertise cause I will bring a whole bunch of people! BTW, if you do come to Charlotte I think Amos' South End would be the perfect place for you to play.

I saw your picture on several of my "friends" my space pages before I ever clicked on it. Then, with dial up, I have to listen to 3 or 4 second clips before the pause, then repeat. lol. But man, I heard enough to spend my hard earned money on pay day for your CD. In 3 or 4 second spaces I could tell I was listening to someone that was a part of the instrument, and it a part of him.
I hope I get to meet you someday, I do not believe there is anyone out there that I would rather day dream about jamming with. I haven't signed anyone else's guestbook, either. lol.

Hey Barry,
Great having you in the studio last Saturday (5/19/07) to record "All That You Do!" and "Trailblazer" for my new CD, Goldenlight, Barry!!! It was also great to talk with you over lunch afterwards. I look forward to working with you again (hopefully soon)!! Track # 3 "Going Back To Old Days" would be great with me (or if you know of another). You're always welcome to join us when we play live this fall and during the taping of a live concert for DVD.

Hey Barry,
I saw you, for the first time, at the Jubilee Cityfest in Montgomery last Saturday. I was really impressed with your performance. Being a Montgomery native, I’m surprised I hadn’t run across you before since you work so much in the Atlanta area.
As I watched you perform, I wondered who your influences might be. I thought I recognized some Jeff Beck and Chet Atkins nuances. Then you did a Trower song and a Jimi and I was hooked. This may be an insult to you, but I even thought I heard a Nugent riff or two. I know some don’t put him in that league, but I love his Amboy Dukes stuff. Then I logged onto your site and saw I was correct in many of my assumptions.
Anyway, I love good guitar playing from Merle Travis, Roy Buchanon, Merle Haggard, Joe Pass, Les Paul, Steve Howe, Peter Banks, Lee Pickens, Alvin Lee, Albert Lee, B.B. Albert & Freddie King, George Benson,
Frank Zappa John Mclaughlin and of course Jimi, Stevie, Carlos and Robin and you can probably guess the others I would mention.
I was a little surprised you got such a big sound out two small Peavey and Fender combo amps. I was curious what pedals you were using. I’m guessing a crybaby, a memory man, some kind of chorus pedal and maybe something like a Fender Blender.
Be sure I will be trying to make some of your future performances around Atlanta.
I’m excited about my new discovery and will be passing the word.
Thanks for the great entertainment.

Hey There Mr. BR. First, sincere major apologies for taking so long, but loved the
show at Tony’s. I didn't think I could see you become any tighter, then as always, you blew my mind again. The band is awesome. Kerri is sounding terrific. Its jellybread man. Thanks again for a fantastic good time and we will do this again. Love ya man.
